Born in 1949, Friedrich qualified as a medical doctor in 1976 in West Berlin. He worked as a surgeon in NHS hospitals in Germany during the late 70s. He studied TCM with the British College of Acupuncture (LicAc1983, BAc1985). Later qualifications include ClinAc (Nanjing, China, 1987), DipCHM (School of Chinese Herbal Medicine, 1991) and ClinCHM (Guangzhou, China, 1991). During the 80s and 90s Friedrich lectured at the British College of Acupuncture and worked for the Council For Acupuncture (CFA) and the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). His roles included CFA/BAcC vice chair, chair of the CFA research committee and treasurer of the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. Friedrich joined the editorial board of EJOM in 2004. Friedrich lives and works in London. He practises acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, homeopathy, counselling and Reiki style healing. He currently lectures, in the UK and abroad, about “The Role of Acupuncture in the Treatment of Cancer.”
